Like most exercise it takes consistency and doing the right correctly over an extended period of time to really help strengthen the muscle enough not to relax. It has been shown to be recommended to practice these exercises for about 30 minutes a day. Tongue Exercises for Sleep Apnea
1.) Gargle water for five minutes and repeat 2-3 times daily.
2.) Gently brush the the roof and sides of your mouth with a tooth brush while keeping your tongue on the floor of your mouth. Do this once for 5 minutes a day.
3.) Press a spoon with your tongue to the top of your mouth behind your teeth for as long as you can. Do this 2-3 times daily.
4.) Press your tongue against the roof of your mouth and slide it from the teeth to the back of the mouth. Do this for 3-5 minutes 2-3 times a day.
5.) Gently bite on your tongue, keep it between your teeth and swallow five times. Repeat 3-5 times a day.
6.) Press the tip of your tongue against your bottom front teeth and press the tongue to the bottom of the mouth. Do this exercises for 3 minutes a day.
7.) Press your tongue right behind the upper front teeth. Do this for 5 minutes daily. Swallow saliva if you need to, but keep the tongue pressed against the mouth right behind the teeth.
